It’s the end of the year.  Goodbye 2008.
It’s also the end of Work In Progress.  The fourth, and final installment has been posted.  I hope you enjoyed it.
And with endings come beginnings.
Hello 2009!
I’m off to create new characters and interesting stories for 2009.  I am also looking at new features for the site.  Stay tuned.
And as usual, feedback is always welcome.

Work In Progress- The End

I survived a month of columns. I put myself out there and swam. Ok, it was more like a doggie paddle, but I didn’t sink, and that is the important thing.

Finding My Voice…

I started this writing thing because I love a good story.  I thought that maybe I have some good stories in me that people would like to read. Real stories about real women, with a dash of humor. Except then I started writing regularly and quickly realized that this writing thing ain’t as easy as it looks.
I’m still going to write.  I’m kind of compelled to.  And I’ll write even if no one reads it  (that is my neurosis rearing it’s ugly head- get used to it).
But it …

The Shadows…

by LA Banks.
From Publishers Weekly
… this 11th installment in Banks’ Vampire Huntress Legend tale contains many interesting references to esoteric religious mysteries and features titillating S&M sex scenes…

It was ok.

Vacation Is Over

So, this was my home away from home for the last week.  I had a great time, motion sickness, and all.  Drove back from Miami yesterday (10 hours of hell- I’m sure you’ll be reading a story about it someday), and instead of unpacking and settling back into the idea of being at home, I went out for breakfast, saw a movie with The Divas, and then went to dinner with The Man.  Not very productive in the writing realm.
But, all good things must come to an end, so I’m …

So, I’m here on the ship.  And as you can imagine, it’s hard to stick to your regular writing/editing schedule while on vacation.  Add a touch of motion sickness (read that as vertigo and constantly feeling like you are going to vomit) and you can deduce that I have been less than productive.  But that is going to change- right now.  Really.  I mean it!

Due to packing and travel prep for my family vacation, I am unable to post today’s Fiction Byte (it needs editing, blah, blah, blah).  The 4th (and final) installment for Work In Progress will be posted on Monday, December 22.  I will resume my regular Fiction Byte posting on Friday, December 26th.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

For those of you who don’t know, I have a weekly column over at APOOO entitled Musings of a Mid-Life Diva.  The title says it all.  Check out this week’s post, Complaint Letter, when you get a chance.  I’m there every Friday.

One Fifth Avenue

by Candace Bushnell.
From Publishers Weekly
Sex in the City goes middle-aged, mordant and slapstick in Bushnell’s chronicle of writers, actors and Wall Street whizzes clashing at One Fifth Avenue, a Greenwich Village art deco jewel crammed with regal rich, tarty upstarts and misguided lovers.

It was ok.

1)  To adjust or fine-tune.  That’s what I’m doing to the site.  Minor fine-tuning.
2)  To pinch, pluck, or twist sharply.  Uh- why do I see a story in here somewhere.
