Twitter Confessions

I have a few things to confess about Twitter.

First of all, I had an account for months before I learned out how to really “use” it.

I figured out how to send a “direct” message from my Beloved Blackberry just yesterday.  What can I say, I’m a little slow.  Thank goodness for Tweetdeck, Suzanne, and Yas.

I will say that I learned very quickly not to receive messages from EVERYONE I am following on my cell phone.  Non-stop dinging or buzzing (when on vibrate) is very annoying, and  marathon Tweet reading leaves me dazed and confused.

I am obsessed with who people follow.  I just randomly check out who folks follow.  As if I have nothing else in the world to do.  It’s amazing really.  Especially when you are talking tens of thousands of followers.  It can take a long time to go through someone’s list.  Like days.  Enough time to do a year’s worth of procrastination.  Which is what all that nosiness is really about for me.

Overall though, I’m glad to have finally gotten the hang of it.  It can be pretty interesting at times.  There are some really cool folks out in Internet Land.  Of course, there are some creepy porno folks as well, but I just block them.

Now, if I can just explain Twitter to The Man.

If you’ve had an account at Twitter for awhile and still aren’t using Twitter much, go download TweetDeck – Twitter will make much more sense and be MUCH easier to manage! And by all means, you’re welcome to follow me.
