I love being in my forties, I only wish that I could find my “look”, you know the perfect hair style and style of dress for someone my age; I’m feeling like I need a signature style and scent…for my mom it’s Channel #5…reasonable shoes and matching tops and bottoms……..I don’t want to go there, so I’ll keep searching………….

Well said xarkGirl! It’s almost like women become invisible after 45. WTF? Maybe if enough of us raise our voices and fists while wearing our sexy but comfortable shoes (one can dream) we might be able to cause a shift in thinking and power. I’m planning to do my part for the next 40+ years. Are you with me?

I have liked parts of being in my 40s. I’m fine with the internal me: the wisdom is hard-earned and much enjoyed. But, I will confess, I do worry about the status of older women in our culture.I’d like to think that, as our population gets older, we’ll put less emphasis on women’s attractiveness and more on their power and experience. Kinda like we already do with men.
