Hey Suzanne- I'm loving the idea of your corporate offices! And if I know you, it will happen soon.

Lunch was interesting- when they were talking about work stuff, I wrapped myself in the fact that I am indeed happy, and not missing very much, other than socializing. Which got me to thinking about an article I read a few months ago about a computer guy in Cali (where else?) who opened up "office space" for other soloprenuers, where they can go and work independently, but also have the camaraderie of the workplace. In other words, folks from various professions who work from home spend a couple of days a week at the "office" (cubicles in a building) where they can socialize on their coffee breaks and have lunch away from their desks. Basically, it sounds like a playdate for the self- employed.

Hmmm- gonna go see if I can find that article. It was pretty cool.

I can *almost* identify with you on this one - except that I do still have to get up on a Monday morning...to get The Daughter to school! (Woo-hoo! Love Monday mornings! LOL)

I think those of us who work from home do sometimes go through periods of missing "the office life". This came into sharp focus for me a couple weekends ago. I have finally grown enough to require some help (I have been laughing and joking...vAssistant Services needs a VA! LOL) and I have negotiated a win-win deal with a good friend of mine who happens to live in Kansas City (about a 4-5 hr drive from me here in Tulsa.)

She came down and spent the weekend a couple weekends ago to do some "training at the corporate offices" (LOL!! I love typing that! LOL). While she was here, I once again experienced how great it is to have someone to work WITH...someone who's here, not on the other end of a phone line. We laughed and worked, and worked and laughed the whole weekend. We got a lot accomplished and had a good time, at the same time. Imagine - Saturday - the two of us - BOTH working in our pajamas all day! It was great.

Now, I've been working at home long enough now that I know I wouldn't probably do very well with that scenario EVERY day. But I do miss it enough that I foresee some frequent "trainings at the corporate offices" in the future. :)
