Keeping It Going

I did the round up of blog highlights today for our local blogging community. As I was perusing a very long list of blogs, I found that there were lots without current posts.
I’m not talking a few days or even weeks here and there. I’m talking months and months. For some, almost a year.
Which got me thinking about what gets in the way of my own posting (and we all know it’s all about me).
Here’s my short list:
- I’m the free cab that transports my child to and from rehearsals, school events, and fun with her friends.
- The work that I do for money requires my attention so that I can continue to make money.
- The Man has discovered a great new restaurant that needs my seal of approval.
- My mother uses the free cab services to go to Target
- My creative process requires that I watch the two weeks worth of Oprah episodes on my DVR- in one sitting.
- The sun is shining and the temperature is a very perfect 72 degrees.
As you can see, it doesn’t take much to get me off track. But the little voice in my head always kicks my butt back in gear after a couple of days. No worries.

Hmmm…I read a book (or two)…lol.
LOL- and then there’s that. Although I haven’t been as diligent about the reading lately. I think I’m in a literary funk.
I am not usually very consistent with my blogging. On some days I just have nothing important to say and other days I write multiple blog posts because I can’t seem to shut up. I keep forgetting you can write a blog post and post date it. So my suggestion is, if you really want to keep your blog updated, on the days you have several ideas swimming around in your head and want to blog all about it…go ahead and write them all up and post date them.. Almost like giving your self a day off.

Funny, those are some of the same things that keep me from STARTING my blog.
