It’s All in My Head

670491_headacheI suffer from migraines.  I have since my late teens.  I wasn’t diagnosed until my 30s.  If you’ve ever had a migraine, you know they are no joke.

I’ve learned what my main triggers are over the years, but sometimes, they just come out of the blue.  And stay for days.

Like last week.  The migraine started on Wednesday, and by Friday I was just wishing for some relief.  While I was driving Upstate to deliver a training.  And during the training.  And on the drive home.

I try to do as much as I can through the pain.  I hate being “laid out” for days at a time.  I’m not always that lucky, but this time I had just enough energy to meet my professional responsibilities and return to my home.

On Saturday, I thought the episode was ending, so The Man and I grabbed The Girls (my daughter and his niece- the College of Charleston Girl) and headed to the Farmer’s Market.  We stood in line for 20+ minutes for crepes.  Of course, it was a beautiful day.  The sun was beaming.  By the time we left downtown, my head was pounding in full force again.  ARGH!

So yes, my weekend was spent cradling my head from the recliner to the sofa to the bed.

This morning I’ve got intermittent pulsing.  It means this episode is pretty much over.  Which is really good because I’ve got plenty of stuff to do, and I can’t be half-stepping this week.

Also, The Girl’s school is performing High School Musical this week, so she is going to need me to be on point so that I can keep her straight.

A woman’s work is never done.

UGH!

Happy Monday y’all.   Some fiction is coming your way this week.  I hope you enjoy.

I know what you are talking about. I have suffered from migraines from my teen years as well. I had a couple years where I would have one or two, but now it’s almost like every other week. Glad to hear you are doing better.

Thanks Yas and Jennifer. I don’t get them nearly as frequently as I was a couple of years ago. I know reduction in stress equals reduction in migraines for me.

Oh, I hate them. I hope you are feeling better.

    Djuanna,
I hope you are feeling better. Those headaches sound like they don’t play. What part does Tyler have in the play?

@Heather- thanks much. I really am feeling better. Migraines suck. lol

@Dera- Ty is playing Tayler. LOL. I’ve never seen the movie, but she says she’s the smart girl. Yay.
