Summer Time
My schedule has sucked for the last couple of weeks. By sucked- I mean crammed full of personal and professional stuff.
I’m having visions of summer dancing in my head.
I want to go off and play.
I want to go to the beach and write (while sitting under a huge umbrella and sipping on something cold and fruity).
I want to go sit in a dark movie theater -every afternoon from May 1 thru Sept 1.
I want to stroll the library and book stores with The Girl and then go get ice cream from Cold Stone. Matching manis and pedis would be great.
I want to have meals with The Man on the decks of all the seafood restaurants in town. Followed by dessert, and then Dessert.
I want giggles and margaritas with The Divas.
Those are my summer plans in a nutshell.
Back to work- right after you make some summer plans of your own.
I wish I had my summer plans all figured out. But other than my kids getting on a plane to NY I have no real plans. I do know that I want to finish a manuscript I’ve been working on since last year, but put to the side so that I could enter a couple contest. Now that is over and I am working hard at being good in school. I hope I am motivated by something extremely fun.
I am hoping to be on tour speaking about my second book. The cover is almost ready and I am very excited about getting out and about. And…I am hoping to have a girls’ weekend just hanging out writing, chatting and sipping away.
@Jennifer C- I too will be working on a MS. As a matter of fact, I am hoping to finish one up within the next month. I’m sure it will be groovy once the kids are settled in NY.
@Pam- keep us posted about the new book and your touring schedule. I can’t wait to see the cover. A girls’ weekend sounds like a blast. Hit me up when you are ready to do it! LOL
Your post makes me think of summer songs. Hot Fun in the Summertime by Sly and the Family Stone, Summertime is Here by War and the old song, School is Out by Gary U.S. Bonds. LOL. Whew! Dating myself.
I have a family reunion, otherwise it will be day trips in the area, lots of fairs, festivals and outdoor concerts.
Great songs Dera. I’m thinking I need to make an iTunes visit this weekend. LOL
