I so agree. I couldn’t put my finger on it until you wrote it. I find myself increasingly annoyed with each book. The third one took me way longer to read than the first two. And the losing virginity thing didn’t sit well with me either. I know that teenagers are going to have sex- I’m no prude, but it was WHO she lost her virginity to and where ( a freakin’ public place) that worked my one good nerve. I wanted to call the cops. LOL My daughter and I have had A LOT of interesting conversations thanks to this series.

I’m almost scared to put this in writing. I’ve read most of this series thanks to another blogger’s daughter. We were on vacation together and I ran out of reading material. Something about the way she describes minorities of any type rubs me the wrong way. I wish I could articulate what it is exactly that bothers me, I think it’s as if each of her minority characters only embody every positive stereotype for race or sexual preference. Now, it may not be as bad as negative stereotyping, but it still isn’t the same as actual character development.
