When things aren’t going well in one area of life for me, I usually start looking for ways to improve every other area in life.
A couple of weeks ago, I started thinking that maybe I needed a website makeover.
Nothing drastic, just a little reorganization. Move some stuff around. I did it at the beginning of the year and was really pleased with the outcome. So what’s the big deal, right?
The big deal is that I don’t need a website makeover. I need to address the stuff in life that isn’t …

Remember yesterday I posted about the guy who uses his smart phone to write his novels?
And remember how I said no thanks?
Well, all day yesterday I was thinking about the possibility. I know it’s crazy. But I’m wondering if I can do it for just an hour.
If I try it, it’ll be this weekend when things are a little calmer. And then I’ll report back to you guys. And you can tell me I’m nuts.
Just call it the mid life diva’s version of Jackass.

My schedule has sucked for the last couple of weeks. By sucked- I mean crammed full of personal and professional stuff.
I’m having visions of summer dancing in my head.
I want to go off and play.
I want to go to the beach and write (while sitting under a huge umbrella and sipping on something cold and fruity).
I want to go sit in a dark movie theater -every afternoon from May 1 thru Sept 1.
I want to stroll the library and book stores with The Girl and then go get ice cream …

I am not a patient person.
I want what I want when I want it.
When I buy a car, it usually takes me six months to a year to research various models and decide on what I want to buy next.
Once my decision is made, I am on the lot and walking away with my vehicle within a few hours. (I have found no way to walk in, make your purchase and leave within a reasonable amount of time- even when you go to the lot with your own financing. …

I suffer from migraines. I have since my late teens. I wasn’t diagnosed until my 30s. If you’ve ever had a migraine, you know they are no joke.
I’ve learned what my main triggers are over the years, but sometimes, they just come out of the blue. And stay for days.
Like last week. The migraine started on Wednesday, and by Friday I was just wishing for some relief. While I was driving Upstate to deliver a training. And during the training. And on the drive home.
I try to do …

I am a HUGE Prince fan. Did I say HUGE? That probably doesn’t even begin to describe it.
For Christmas, The Man gave me a coffee table book detailing the Beloved Purple One’s career. No one can touch that book but me. Unless they are ready to die. And for the record, I don’t have a coffee table. A story for another day.
Before I hit the road this morning for a day of meetings in Columbia, I heard that the Prince Opus iPod was being released today. I couldn’t leave …

My Mondays usually start off pretty much the same. I get The Girl up and out of the house, make a cup of tea, watch Good Morning America while writing out my week-long To Do list, and then I begin to actually whittle down the list.
No big deal, right? Everybody does it.
Except this week The Girl is on spring break, and I have no idea what we are going to do this week. So far, I’ve come up with the following:
movies
the driving range
grabbing our cameras and heading downtown as if …

For some reason, I had problems all day with accessing my website. ARGH. So this stinkin’ shorty post is all you get.
And yes, I know that the pic is a guy falling off a cliff, but I couldn’t find a pic to truly represent today.
Besides, I like it.
I’m going to eat ice cream now. It’s my remedy for general crankiness.

This is how I wanted to spend my weekend:
This is how I actually spent my weekend:
With periods of eating and sleeping.
Oh yeah, and I did get to put my butt in a chair and watch a couple of movies Saturday evening (after the first round of running around) and did NOT fall asleep. Yay me.
Sunday was more of the same (but to a lesser degree).
Today- back to the grind.
Just like everybody else.
